Let me state my initial bias to this place. It is without doubt
my favorite place on Railay Beach. Tucked away on the far side of
Railay Beach, nestled against the limestone cliffs, are the 20 acres
which make up a private community of houses. What is so special
about this place is that the land has been developed and built on
sparsely and subtly. It is as close as it is possible to get to
the feeling Railay Beach had 20 years ago. This is not a commercial
organisation, but is run by the private individuals who own land
or houses in this 20 acre sanctuary. Some of these people rent out
their luxurious houses some of the time.
Bridge House is one of the biggest of these houses. The house is
really three houses connected together with raised walkways and
bridges. It was co-designed and built by three friends, each of
them designing their own bit. The result is that there are three
distinct themes, Thai, Japanese and Western. The house is made entirely
of native woods, painstakingly selected and collected by the main
architect. He spent a couple of years living in a make shift hut,
before he felt he had the right wood, and the right design. Finally
he got lucky, and managed to get some of the same crew who had worked
on one of the Kings residences to build his dream. The result is
to be experienced.
Bridge house has four wings, two Master wings and two Guest wings, all with private bathrooms and decks. There is also a large, shared, open air dining "Sala" and kitchen. The house can be rented by the wing, or you can rent the whole thing.
King likes the place so much that he has made a video- a little cheesy but a nice touch!
Guest Wing A
Bridge House-Master Wing A is an open plan bedroom with a living area with an adjoining bathroom. There is a small beverage fridge, hot water kettle, and tea and coffee in Wing A up. From the large open deck there is a view of the sea. There is another cosy sleeping area with a high balcony up in the loft. The extra bedroom and bathroom is located downstairs with its own patio through the back door. The downstairs room has air conditioning.
Sleeping arrangements: This wing has 1 king bed upstairs and one queen bed downstairs, plus an option to put an extra single bed in the loft.

Guest Wing D
Bridge House-Master Wing D is a very cool open space Japanese style- located above the large Sala used as a lounge/bar area for all guests in the house (there is the potential for some noise).
The room has an open-plan living area with floor loungers, low tables, a Japanese futon/sofa, a queen size bed, and a bathroom. There is a small beverage fridge, hot water kettle, and tea and coffee supplied in the room.
Sleeping arrangements: This wing has 1 queen bed and 1 Japanese double futon
Below this area on a split level between the Master Suite and the Sala is a Japanese Tatami Mat room which can be either used as an extra sleeping area on futons or for yoga, meditation and massage for additional 1000 THB per night.

General details
There is no air conditioning in most of the house, which may be off putting
for some. However the house gets a refreshing ocean breeze, particularly
in the evening. If you
want to stay in secluded luxury, then this really is your best option
in Railay. It's the one place I would like to stay most. If you
can afford it, I would strongly recommend it.
It should be noted that for each of the wings, the upstairs bedrooms are all great. The "bedroom down" rooms located underneath the bedrooms are not as luxurious and are priced accordingly. These rooms are only available with their upstairs counterparts.
